Vents in Bell Housing
I have read that vents were not in the Bell Housing of early Model A's but were added in later production. Why were they added? was it due to heat billed up or what?

Re: Vents in Bell Housing
The only "vent" in a Model A/AA Bell housing from begining of production to the end was on top which was the Inspection Plate which was screwed on to the Bell Housing with two slotted screws.

Re: Vents in Bell Housing
From the Standards. "In March 1929, two louvers were added to the clutch housing hand hole cover to assure ample ventilation in the clutch housing."

Re: Vents in Bell Housing
Thanks Bob for that extra clarification...and you are right...I forgot the early version had no vents and I am working on just that...a July 1928 OCPU. It is hell getting OLD!
