Bulb removal on 36 coupe
This question pertains to a 36 coupe …..How does the headlight lens come apart from the reflector so it can be cleaned ??
Do not want to damage anything. |

Re: Bulb removal on 36 coupe
Simply unclip the headlight lens stainless surround from the bottom and lift up and out. The lens and surround will come off as a unit; the reflector should remain in the bucket.

Re: Bulb removal on 36 coupe
I would refrain from using any cleaner on the reflector. Wipe the dust off with a soft cloth and water.

Re: Bulb removal on 36 coupe
I agree with caution cleaning the reflectors if they are original, since they are silver coated, not chrome. Repro reflectors are chrome plated and can handle easy cleaning. Silver polish is recommended, even for chrome.

Re: Bulb removal on 36 coupe
The lens is supposed to be held into the rim by special clips. The reflector has a cork gasket to seal the lens to the reflector. Sounds like the prior owner was missing the gasket and the clips and used the silicone to take their place.
