Default Exploded view of Model A light switch

I've got a 1928 Model A RHD. I'm in the process of tracing through to find a dead short on the lighting circuit which is blowing the main fuse. 2 questions.

1. Has anybody got an exploded view of the light switch that attaches to the end of the steering column? I've been through the Les Andrew book and although there's the electrical schematic of how the switch functions, there's little on how it mechanically/ electrically works. Before I start taking the switch assembly apart (to isolate the different feeds) I'd like to have a bit more information on it.

2. Are there any common issues with the switch that I should look out for?

Not with the light switch directly but the most likely trouble area is
the connectors on the back of the headlight where the wires go in.

Is it the 1st or 2nd type switch ?

The brake light switch can cause issues too.

You didn't say if it was blowing fuses always or just when turning the lights on. If it happens all the time, then also know that one side of the horn is always live. If it happens only when turning the lights on then it might not be in the swich. Anything "downstream" from the switch could be shorting too.

Thanks for the replies. Bob it looks as though it was the side light on one of the front headlights. I had them positioned at 6o'c and that's likely to short against the spigot that secures the headlamp shell. Just busy resoldering wires back but so far the problem has not reappeared.
