Extra Hole in Carb
Was able to get into my garage last night to do a little work on getting my A Doodlebug fired up for the first time. The car hasn't been ran in 20 years or so and had gas left in it. So I figured it was a good idea to give the fuel system a good scrubbing. Removed the Tilly x that was on it and put it in the ultra sonic cleaner to start. Upon removal and examination I noticed a hole in the body of it. It's about the size of a pencil lead and appears to have possibly have been patched at some point. Do you think I can re-patch it? Or should I start the search for a different carb?

Re: Extra Hole in Carb
im not seeing it... I know zeniths have a small purposely there vent hole on the backside (engine block side) but I dont believe tillys do. If they do it would not be by the choke arm/gav adjustment.
Since its on a doodle bug and presumably ran at one point I'd clean it off the best you can and use some JB weld to skim over it. Might need to use thier jb stickweld - its like a modeling clay so you can stick it to irregular shapes. Normal 2 tube epoxy jb weld can run as it dries. Rough up the surface with a wire brush, clean with acetone, and JB weld away!

Re: Extra Hole in Carb
Personally I would use the 2-tube J B Weld. It sticks very well in my experience. I don't know about the stickweld.
