Default 351W HO Carb Question

I have an 86 F350 with a 351W HO motor. The motorcraft carb that is on the truck is in bad need of a rebuild. (Part # E6HEGA-B6D28)Unfortunately Ford no longer sells a rebuild kit. Will a Holley 600 or 650 rebuild kit work on this carb? I actually would like to swap over to an Edelbrock performer series carb but I have no idea what to do with the EGR stuff all over the engine. I'm not sure what stays and what goes

No those kits won't work, that Holley is sort of a freak with the dual vented bowls but Summit has the correct kit:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Holle...Q5fAccessories

I had an '84 351 HO. Parts stores and Ford said they didn't make an HO in '84. Carb had a tag that said built for Motorcraft by Holley. Had a different model number than the '85 and '86. Anyway, if your carb has the tube that runs between the bowls be very careful when assembling it. I must have screwed up an O-ring and had a fire.
Holley had a similar carb with their name on it. I have one somewhere. Could be the Holley kit would work.

Daytona Parts should be able to supply a kit if you want to rebuild it. Ask for Gina...super nice folks.

After much debate I decided to track down a rebuild kit for the stock carb. One of the guys I work with is a carb rebuild master so the kit and the carb will soon be in his hands. At this point I just need to get this thing running and out of my driveway

I had a 87 with that carb and if I still owned it I would have replaced that carb, the idle adjustments were not in the same location as the normal Holleys and a PITA to adjust even with special tools to do it.
