pedal adjustment
My clutch has 1 1/2 '' of free play before I feel significant pressure , no grinding or chatter , the problem is when releasing the clutch it does not re-engage until it reaches that 1 1/12 spot of free play , and then it wants to slip ever so slightly , I was told it is a new clutch and P.plate , Should I adjust to have more free play ? or less free play ? , or is it probably in the P.P spring adjustment , no problem shifting car or going into gear , it is just the pedal has to be almost completely released before engagement .

Re: pedal adjustment
Hmm, remove the inspection cover and take a look.
See how far the pedal has to be pushed before the bearing contacts a finger. I know you said 1.5". Look to see if all the fingers are contacted at the same time. Work the pedal a few times to see if there is anything wrong/strange. If all seems Ok I'd try increasing the freeplay just to see what changes. |

Re: pedal adjustment
I don't think it should be normal for the clutch to slip should it ?

Well, clutches have to slip a bit depending on what anyone thinks is a slip. But, slippage rarely occurs in lower gears. The clutch really has to be bad to do that. The usual way to find a slipper is to accelerate hard in high gear. Let us know what happens and we can go from there. We'll try to get it figured out. |

Re: pedal adjustment
I got side tracked with honey do projects , I did get the floor out of it and the inspection cover off , just a quick glance at it , everything looks fine , I'll dig deeper into it this weekend .
