Default Coil Question/Not starting

We have a 30' Roadster high point car in the shop that won't start. Within a few seconds of turning the engine to start, the coil gets so hot it can not be touched.
I have 6volts at the end of the ignition cable, and 6 volts at the points. But no spark at the plugs.
My thoughts are that the condenser is bad, and probably the coil because of severe overheating.
Anyone have any thoughts??

Sounds like there is an issue with the coil. I would swap it with a known good one.

Good luck - Jim

Put an Ohm meter across the terminals and let us know the result.

Great advice as that's how I further determined mine had failed the other day.
