3/4 ton and tonner shared the same grill as the 1.5 ton, which is totally different then the .5 ton.

Default 1941 Ford Half Ton Pickup

Is the hood on a 41 PU the same as a 40 PU?

My friend tried to put one of Drake's 40 PU nose pieces on his 41 and it wouldn't fit the contour. Is there a problem with the nose piece from Bob or are the hoods different? Thanks for your response.

Let me get this straight. Are you saying that the actual sheet metal is different between the 40 and 41 pickup? We know about the trim pieces and they are different.

As for the differences, the '40 hood pot metal trim that goes down the front should fit the hood, BUT there is a difference in the length(at fthe front bottom). Drake makes ONE piece that will fit both models. What he did was to make the trim piece to fit the longest version. Thereby fitting both & if needed you cut off a couple inches if your needs are for the shorter one. I went thru this situation myself a couple yrs ago.

My hood & the trim did NOT fit either & after doing a go around several times, it was discovered that my hood had been banged up a time or two and after reworking the hood to bring it back to original contours, everything worked out.

probably not your problem BUT 41 had a 6 cyl that used different hood latch bracing than 4 or V8...

I have a '41 and just sold a '40. Hoods are the same exept for the latch mechanism is farther ahead on the '41 (and it was'nt a 6 cyl) I think all '41's came with the further ahead design. The '40 trim won't hook up to the '41 linkage and latch either. Also if you look at the upper grille support the cross bar where the latch hooks on to is further ahead than the '40 as well. The 'car' bullnose looks the same but is different as well, could he have rec'd a car bullnose my mistake?

My 2 cents. thanks.
