Default I finally got a car!!!!

Well, it's not a flatty......yet! I bought a model A roadster out of TX. It's a Brookville that a fella and his son never finished. I know it's not real, but you couldn't tell by the smile on my face! It'll be here in about a month.

I picked up:

28/29 body, assembled

all winshield stuff

new seat frames, cusions and springs

all latches and handles

39 tail lights

model a tank

and some other misc. stuff...

I picked it up for a song. If I would have went to Brookville (2 hours away) an bought one I would have about the same in it. But, I basically get all the goodies for free. This includes shipping too.

Man, you guys know how hard I've looked. I KNOW I've called close to 100 guys. This doesn't include how many other I visited and how many collector car website I watched.

And your going to drop that on your frame with the flatty right? What year is the frame?

Are you going to be on the road by the summer? Take your time on it this summer, you'll have plenty of driving time next season if you do it right the first time.

I have a model a frame too. I have extra engine, tranny, rear ax and front ax....

I may have it running this summer, but not really road worthy. I teach school so I'm off. But, I have several classes (last summer 7am-5pm an hour away for 10 weeks) and a new born baby. So, I don't have a choice but to go slow....

Thanks!! I will certainly be looking for advice!

Hey Youngin - Ya done real good. That was a nice purchase and the Brookville bodies are great. I am building an AV8 with a 29 Brookville body and am completely satisfied with their quality. Also, makes ya warm & fuzzy as you have cut up any nice Model A. Best of luck and keep us informed. Contact me if ya wanna swap stories. Sounds like we're doing the same type cars. And your previous post about Mike Bishop & Vern Tardel's book was right - can't put it down no matter how long ya have it. Its great.

I knew what ya meant!!! hahaha Yes, I really don't like cutting original sheet metal. Frames and things I'm a little more liberal on.....

A friend of mine is building a brand new Model A roadster with a Brookville body. I just built him a new bone stock model A engine for it. Walt
