Default Differential lubrication

Reinstalling the diff cover on my 53 Ranchwagon. Maybe a spicer 41, not sure. It has the metal cover with the fill plug on the back. I noticed that the fill plug seems very low on the cover. I don't think the gear oil reaches the bottom of the axle housing. Doesn't seem like the gears would get much lubrication. I guess I just never noticed how low that plug is. Did I close the garage door? Anyway, just one of those observations. I am sure they have it figured out.
