Default Animals Like Model A's

Yesterday while on tour in the country with about 40 or 50 Model A's, I noticed each time we drove by a pasture full of cows, the cows would stop grazing and all stood there staring at the Model A's driving by.

I also noticed the same thing of dogs. I've noticed this same behavior whether driving my Model A alone, or in a group. Must be something about the sound of the Model A that grabs the animals attention.

I notice that when i leave my Model A parked in the front yard all the neighborhood dogs, including my own, come by and pee on the tires.

They're just marking their territory.

Tom, is this your chapter or a bunch of different chapters that you had that many cars. That would have been a site to see. No wonder the cows stopped to look.

I've noticed that too. There is a horse on my way home who lifts and shakes his head and whinnys when an A goes by, but ignores the modern cars. My dogs are always at the neighbors up the road to greet the A, but stay at home for the moderns. I have noticed cows react differently as well. In the case of the dogs, I'm sure its the sound.

Took my roadster to get an ice cream the other night and drove along the foot of a lake on a causeway loaded with people fishing. No one looked that I could see. Guess the cows and dogs are more curious. But then I've often wondered about fisherpersons.

They are reacting to the different sound they aren't accustomed to hearing. I many ways their instincts are superior to ours. We spend money on cars, they just look at them.

yea model A's and many cars from thier era have a distinct noise VS modern cars where theres such little difference between engine makers. So yea new noise thier not sure if they need to fight or flight so thier gonna watch it and be hesitant.

Critters do the same with my s10 because the exhaust is half falling off...

Yo Bill, Meatball here,
Bring Buster T. to see the cows, I bet if Buster Barks, The Cows Bark back, let me know your results. I know when I bark at the Spiders, the barking spiders come running!

We have 200 to 300 members in out club, and the Rochester club "Lady Slippers" had come members along also. It was our pancake breakfast and mystery tour.

A couple of years ago, I drove up behind a woman standing in the middle of the road taking pictures of flowers and sounded the ahoogha. She almost dropped her camera which is all she had to drop.

Makes me think its a sign of intelligence. The cows are smarter than some of today's people, better taste in cars too!
