Follow the Ford instructions. Do not change the rod lengths. For each wheel, turn in the adjuster until the wheel starts to drag then out 2 clicks. Then go for a test drive. If the car pulls to one side, turn out one click on that side and test again.

Drive to town and back and then measure the brake drum temperatures with an IR thermometer. Side to side should be within 15 degrees but front to back can be more depending on if the rear brakes are working harder as Ford designed them to do.

Forget the brakes, they really don't work.

This is the correct answer.

I do as everyone else suggested. I check the temp on all four wheels after driving a little.

Do you have the anti rattle springs on the rear?
If so could you post a pic, I'm having some trouble getting mine to hook-up right.
I'm putting all new brake rods on

I have had mine for over 28 years, and have never had a single problem,
quality made, and most of all, probably the safest lift on the market.

I follow the brake adjustment instructions in the Ford Service Bulletins - p.202, I believe. Simple and no block of wood needed.
