Default what model was the 799A

I was looking at the title to my 47 Ford coupe that came with the car, and it says it was a 799A. I did a quick google search, and a bunch of pics of woodies popped up. I also checked a couple of sites and their information was pretty vague.

I talked to the guy that i bought the car from and he said it wasn't the original title, and my VIN plate is completely blank.

799A is simply a prefix for the 1947 V-8 car.

Like TJ said... On the frame by the steering box, there should be a vin stamped. For 1947, it starts with 799. For 1948, it starts with 899. And, for 1946, it simply starts 99. You can find this in old Motor Manuals, among other places.
Just to confuse the issue, and muddy the water, look at the legend shown in the front of the club roster... It lists the MODELS, as starting with 79A- (and NOT 799A-)
