Default Mid 28 brake shaft question

Our June 28 with the parking brake in middle has a rattle when going over bumps that I think is coming from the two piece brake shaft the spring steel? Brackets have a lot of play. My question is how tight should they be? Has anyone any ideas how to snug it up?

The U/J housing "clam shell" were the 2 brake shafts go into,...when you take it apart,
there should be a spring in the end of the brake shaft too keep the shaft loaded in the
socket. Hope that makes sense?

In your photo,...there should be some slop,...BUT the shafts get worn and get loose. You can take that apart and weld it up and turn it in a lathe.

Also,...look close at the "dog bone" that links the 2 shafts together...also the "fork" that
the dog bone slides into..
