Interesting about the ride being scary. If I put those shocks on mine I'm definitely going to have to lube the springs. I don't have much issue with the way my car rides with no shocks, the springs must be nicely internally damped with rust and rock hard grease. I would imagine lubricated springs and shocks will give a better ride though.

Every couple of days recently I have been spraying the springs with penetrating oil. It's soaking in between the cracks. Can't tell if it's helping any but they sure smell better.

That's why I'm adding shocks in parallel with my spring-lubing project and also having the rear brakes rebuilt (thanks Randy!). Just easier to do all the work at the same time, and you don't end up with that springs/shocks mismatch.

I had solid Aluminum blocks made the size of the shock mount. Work perfectly. I was worried the tube spacers would flex.
