Default Help Identifying Model

Greetings the photo is my Great Grandfather next to his Ford truck dated 1923. Not sure if the date is right, but I am needing to identify the model and year if possible. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Mid 20s Mack maybe, not Ford. You might try posting on; Smokstak® Antique Engine Community

in the car and truck section. https://www.smokstak.com/forum/forum...and-trucks.57/

Looks like it could be a military standard Liberty surplus truck.

The 8 holes in the front crossmember are typical of the Federal Motor Truck Company rig. I might guess 1918 to 1920 or so. Google images of 1918 Federal Trucks to see the similarities. The license plate looks more like a 1921 New York to me.
Cool photo.

Yup, and so is gramps with his pipe, shades and flat-hat. But he must have needed a ladder to roll those side curtains up/down.

Bet they could have been unbuckled from the inside before loading.

Could be, but how to roll them back up? Curtain appears to be tightly rolled under itself. Don't think it would work like a roman shade - maybe some sort of crank mechanism on the back of the truck?

LOL The question was how to unfurl, not roll back up! Maybe then you would need a ladder come next summer.

Actually, my question was how to roll back up as well as unfurl - note the bold:

It's winter in the pic and the curtains still are rolled up - maybe he didn't have a ladder.

The reply was not directed to you, it was to the OPer.

Sorry, assumed it was since we've been posting back and forth and the reply immediately followed my post.
