An airplane similar to this one collided with a 1935 Ford while buzzing the beach during WW2.

2-21-1943. Galveston, Texas. A low flying Lockheed-Vega B-34 (AJ-240) collided with a 1935 Ford Tudor Sedan that was being operated on a beach seven miles west of the Army Air Base at Galveston, Texas, killing five Army fliers aboard the B-34 and injuring a father and his six children in the Ford. Four of the children were seriously injured. The B-34 had buzzed the beach back and fourth at an altitude of 20 feet several times, overflying personnel and vehicles from Ellington Field, Texas. The B-34 struck the Ford in the radiator, hood, windshield and roof with the starboard wing. Several feet of the starboard wing were severed. The B-34 flew straight for a few moments before entering a steep bank to the right and smashing into the surf about three quarters of a mile from where the Ford was struck. https://www.facebook.com/warbirdcras...type=3&theater
