I lean towards what you suggest - buying something basically "done". If only we had a three car garage. One of the issues we found when buying our home in 2013 was finding a garage that had room for more than just simply parking a car in it. Ours is slightly oversized with nice workspace to the rear of one bay. It seems that most new construction is built so that the cars can barely fit in and that's it - no room to roll a jack around, have a work bench, etc.

By the way, thank you all for the warm welcome!

Matt we see that a LOT, new homes built with a 'three car garage' that would MAYBE hold 2 Mini Coopers and a riding lawn mower in the third stall. Pathetic what these contractors do!!!!! And good luck opening your car door without banging into the sheet rock wall

I've been buying parts to build and A. Picked up a 30 2 door sedan body out from a building falling on it. A couple chassis in the next state over. A few pieces here and there. I will continue to gather parts as my sons and I are currently working a Model T.

I've been looking for a good driver Fordor Sedan for about a year. Still looking, found one last week fairly close to me, sent an email to the local Model A Chapter asking if someone was available to inspect the car and offer advice. Still haven't heard back from them, I offered to pay for an inspection.

I have no problem with the daily driver sitting out as long as her car and the toys are parked indoors.

I grew up around cars. Mostly 50's-70's, but my wife and I are extremely fond of the Model A's. We look forward to being able to find one, but at this point we must wait until we upgrade homes.

Love the forum!

Or you could get one of these . . .

I have had more than my share of classic cars over the years - Model A to 57 Chevy to Chevelles, corvette, etc. and like many of you, they just happen. I don't really plan to buy another car. I just do. Will I buy another Model A - sure! It's a blast to drive and I never tire of its simplicity and longevity. I should say that a supportive wife makes all the difference in the world. My next project is a 30 Roaster for her.
