Curious. Do you know where this photo was taken? Interesting rock formation in background.

Yes it a termite mound, commonly called an "ant hill". Found in northern Australia. In some places in high density. In some locations they point in northerly direction and they are called "magnetic ant hills". in early days ant hills were crushed and laid for flooring in homes because they set hard. They have small tunnels throughout. When I have investigated I have found grass seeds along the tunnels.
For more information check out Benson's suggestion above.
Now that's a pretty good looking motorcar isn't it.

Lots of sacks of animal feed or potatoes were hauled on the front fender of the model A.

They look like they are from a European car with those fish eye lenses. Probably "King of the Road" brand or Brolt.
As for the gear stowed along the side, my late father in law used to tell me how he dropped bags of pollard and bran etc in there because it was easier than putting it in the back. I've seen pictures of the kids riding in there too.
Note the tool box at the front. I wonder where the idea came from for the ones offered by the vendors.

Makes you wonder what's tied onto the other side?
I've seen old pictures of multiple deer tied on. I guess you crawled thru a window to get in or out.

With all that gear there, clearly the passenger couldn't get out. I bet the driver's side has much less on it or maybe he went over the back of the front seat and out through one of the back doors.

Back in the 50s I delivered the morning newspapers riding on the fender of my dads 29 Tudor whenever I talked him into helping! I wonder what would happen today if that was tried?

Interesting. I have a 29 Roadster that had been in a barn for 40 years. I thought it was all original but I have holes in the side that look like the ones on the touring car. I thought it was all original but now I wonder ???

I have a friend in Canada who was pulled over by the police when they has the kids in the rumble seat. The young female officer thought it was too dangerous to be legal and gave them a ticket. My friend didn't argue (pointless) but told her she would be withdrawing the ticket once she spoke with her boss. She wouldn't have a bar of it and prevented them from continuing with the kids in the back. After a few days, he was notified that the ticket was being withdrawn.
She would freak out at this one.

More about termites and how the Termites create water holes ... interesting Public Broadcasting System show from last November.

Note page will be "greyed out" until you click and answer the question about your PBS station which pops up!
