Default Dual 94's?

I'm seriously considering a dual Holley 94 set up on my 52 flathead. I know the
purists out there are not going to go for this. However, I really. want to . My thought is to get an intake adapter and add the two Holleys to it. I cant spend more money to get a true intake manifold and i understand that i will sacrifice some power. going with an adapter .I already have two Holleys that i rebuilt and would like the challenge of putting this set up to work. If you want to respond, I would be very interested on your comments, pro or con. Thanks!

You might shop around for a dual intake,

Don't expect much performance improvement if any at all, if you put a two carb adaptor on a single two barrel manifold. Better check for hood clearance on a '52 also.

I'm not sure your Loadmatic distributor will get the proper vacuum signal from this setup.

Yes, you'll probably have to change the distributor as well

I ran dual 94's on a Offy manifold on my 52 F1. I also ran Bubba's converted distributor. Loved the set up for its looks but don't think performance was measurable. Chap

I ran dual 94's for years on a regular dual manifold. I played a lot with power valves and jetting to get it to run good. Eventually I swapped them for Stromberg 97's and right from the start it ran better. I think there's a reason they are the hot rodders choice.

artron,
Speedway offers a 2x2 intake which is an EXCELLENT copy of chap's. I've
used this intake on a lot of builds on early and late flatheads.....$219 brand new...
94's can be made to work but Strombergs are much less fussy. Cut back on your beer consumption for a month and look into the Speedway #910-15985.....JMHO.

There are still a few good deals on used manifolds out there. Talk to your car friends, go to swap meets, and check CraigsList, etc. All of my manifolds were obtained this way, but I got rid of my duplicates and spares a few years ago. If you try, you should be able to get a real dual manifold for about the same price as an adapter. After that, the linkages and fuel lines are the same for both. Trust me, you will be a lot happier.

They are still out there. One suggestion would be to avoind any "Super" manifolds (with the wide spaced carbs); they cause generator mounting problems. Stay with a "Regular", like the one "Charlie ny" recommended where the generator can be mounted in the stock position

Believe this is the Charlie is referring to. $219.99 is a good price for an intake manifold, however there are some issues:

Notes
1. There is not enough room to mount the factory Ford generator in the stock location on this intake. The generator can be relocated to the passenger side using bracket kit 3251146. As an alternative, PowerGen 91067180 will fit this intake without additional bracketry. GM-style alternators can also be used with this intake when combined with bracket 91667909 (chrome) or 91667910 (plain).
2. The generator mount boss on this intake is shifted slightly toward the driver's side, which will also shift the fan from its original location.

As estout81 stated, the Edelbrock regular dual will allow a stock generator. The main purpose of the "regular dual" design was to allow the stock generator location, so curious why Speedway's does not?

Ok! The adapter is out! Like the Speedway intake. Dont like the movement of the gen! What this about the fan? How do you move that? I have two Charlie built carbs which I really want to use. Am I crazy? Should I leave well enough alone. The single holley is running great! If I dont do this, I will wonder why I didnt.?

I have a tri-manifold on a 59a engine, just moved the generator over to the side with the adapter. I build a bracket for the fan that mimics the generator part of the mount.

I agree, since the carb spacing appears to be the same on the Edelbrock regular dual and the Speedway intake. Why won't both work with a stock generator ?

Jack. I never really checked for accurate gas mileage. Head in the sand approach. Guess I was at about 15mpg overall. I also had a Howard 3/4 cam and Heddon dual turbo mufflers. Wasn't fast, but looked and sounded cool... LOL Gas gauge got near 1/4 and I would fill her up. Chap

Thanks gents for your advice and help! Still concerned about the gen relocation. Also the fan location? How do you move the fan? Cant picture that part of the installation? I would like to hear from someone who actually has the Speedway intake installed. Like Scicala said, why wont the Speedway intake mimic the Edelbrock intake?

Like I posted, you don't have to move the fan to a different location. You can just make a simple adapter to replace that part of the generator that fits between the fan and the intake manifold. Guess you could cut the piece off of a non-functioning generator.
