Yep, that's the way the clamp / support is installed. That is not the correct frame bracket though.

Your clamp location is correct however your bracket is not. That is the setup for a 1940 muffler clamp installation, downward. The 1941 bracket bolts to the riveted support piece above it. Use a flat washer, lock and nut.

I suppose that's one way to do it.
I was under the impression this guy wanted to replicate the original way.

That is the correct way for the 1941 Ford.

Out in the parts bin I have 3-4 NOS brackets for a 41. I hate to say never, but I strongly suspect I will never have a 41 and the brackets are a different length than the earlier frame bracket.
