Is this for Al Lepore's procession? What a nice way to go home. I hope you find one.

Joop, a club in CT. called MAFC of Connecticut might could help you .... also, the roster for MAFCA. Doesn't the roster list the type of Model A owned plus the name and location of the owner? You might even find someone listed in the roster from a neighboring state or even farther who is willing to help.

Hi Larry.

Thanks for your input.
I am 2 hours away from A&L and know a lot of club members but we are not able to find one. that's the reason I put it up on the Barn.

Joop, would it be too crude and disrespectful (or dangerous) to rig up some type of small trailer to tow behind a Model A or Model A pick up?

Hi Larry

Let's try to find a more suitable vehicle first.

There was a 1931 AA hearse at Querfeld Funeral Home
William N. Querfeld owner/ manager
1200 Oakwood Blvd. Dearborn, MI 48124.
This info came from the April 2010 "THE DOUBLE A'ER"

There was a guy in Philadelphia who had one. He worked at the Budd Co. and he used to bring it to company events but I don't know his name. I always thought it strange that Henry Ford's last ride was in a Packard, it was said that they couldn't find a Ford or even a Lincoln.

I know of a Model AA hearse in Texas owned by a funeral home but that's too far away and too expensive. It belonged to a friend of mine and it had only 10,000 original miles. It can be seen briefly in the sheriff's funeral scene in the 1984 movie "Places in the Heart" with Sally Field.

Before my friend sold it to the funeral director we had great fun at club meetings. With a fake casket in the back and a volunteer dead man, the kids would squeal and scream with delight when he opened his eyes and rose from the casket. The adults would follow with comments like, "You look better dead than alive" and everyone would laugh.

Of course it would not be a joke if used in a real funeral and I wish CT. was not so far away.

This Funeral Home in In Hauppauge Long Island, about twenty minutes from the Ferry to Bridgeport, CT
This is in a St Patrick's Parade so I am sure it would be arranged differently.
The Motorcycle guys use it.
I wonder if an arrangement could be made regarding towing this herse with a Model A?
I have spoken to the director a few times about him purchasing a couple of Fordors for antique car guy funerals.
Call or email me if there is potentia.

I just called the Moloney Funeral Home and they advised me it is custom made for the towing bike and can't be hooked to a standard hitch.

Can we please stop all this crap. Tim was very specific about the family's wishes. If a suitable vehicle existed in CT or NE in general we would know about it.

As a historical footnote, there was a hearse some years ago for sale in Tennessee that was used to relocate caskets when the Quabben Reservoir was built in western MA. Don't know what happened to this AA. This would have been a perfect vehicle but it is apparently not available.

I suggest we all keep Al in our prayers as well as his family. He is already greatly missed.

Seems to me all that have responded were very fond of Al Lepore. All have made suggestions and they have came with I'm sure the best intentions.
I feel bad that Mr. Ciccalone feels that these good intentions are crap. I don't know who made Mr. Ciccalone the man in charge.
I can tell Al truly had a lot of friends and all just want his funeral procession to be something befitting to his memory. I am glad to read how all are trying to help.
James.

James, I'm not in charge. Only expressing my opinion. I think Tim Kelly said it best. I'm sure there will a large turn out of Model A's that will be appreciated by Al's family. I'm sorry if I offended you.

Steve, All's good. I feel a comfort that there will be a special corner in heaven where we can all set and jaw about our Model A's. I'm sure Al will be right up front.

Crap? The other posts are crap and then you make a post very similar with your reference to another AA that's not available.

I dealt with Al for years and I'll bet he'd be glad to read every post.
