Spindle bolt bearings Timkin T 83
Redoing king pins and the "kit" I purchased has some shady looking bearings. I have searched here and my findings indicate the Timkin T-83 are out of production. Also I did not find any felts in the kit. Will any felt work or is there something special about the felts in the kit? Current thoughts?

Mac's has USA made thrust bearings for $6 apiece. Where did you purchase the kit?

Re: Spindle bolt bearings Timkin T 83
Bought the kit from a regional supplier. I'm sure they will send up the two large felts. In reading Les Andrews and the forums the good timkins are no longer available. I would rather hunt for quality bearings than run the risk of beaing failure. I check Mac's out too. Made in Ohio or so they claim. LOL

The king pin bearings get very little actual use that causes wear.

Re: Spindle bolt bearings Timkin T 83
Hello John... Yes please although inspecting mine they seem very usable. The re-pops I bought are so-so. What really chaps my ass is I borrowed one of the clubs king pin reamers and somebody chipped the hell out of several teeth. I don't feel comfortable using it. I also found 2-3 wheel lugs are a bit loose. Can these be re-swaged? I'm going to Thoes this morning to install new bushings. See you tonight. And Thank You.
