Default Parking brake connecting rod...

I recently installed my rebuilt engine(runs great!)and transmission, the 4-speed is in storage and the 29 ccpu is now back to having a 3-speed.

When I went to hook up the parking brake linkage I discovered that the old rod was too long, it had been lengthened to accommodate the 4-speed and it was routed under the frame crossmember.

For now I will shorten the rod that I have, but I would like to figure out what would have been original to this January 29 pickup.

The parking brake lever is the later type, along with the shift housing.

The parking brake cross shaft is the early type with the two holes in the bellcrank.

The hole in the frame cross member is too small to allow the small clevis end of the brake rod to pass through.

Based on the bellcrank and frame hole would this truck have originally had a front-mount type parking brake lever?

Was there a third type?

Randy

Yes, January 1929 should have the front mounted parking brake lever.

Thanks Tom....that settles that......

I'll make do with what I have for now but I will be on the look-out for the correct shift tower and handle assembly.....
