An exceptional hisory of a common man's Model A

That car belonged to one of our local St. Louis guys... it was his uncles since new. Irv has been the caretaker for probably the last 20 years I think... I've done a brake job on it in the past... Original paint on all the backing plates inside like new... it was a pleasure to do. I replaced the fan belt and did a showroom tune up job for the dealer ( Lou Fusz Ford) in Chesterfield before you picked it up. They get Model A's from time to time as they like them in their showroom and call me for an service and repair . It is a very nice original unmolested car. it had been repainted once ( I wish it hadn't) but other than that and sealed beams it is fairly unmolested. I've driven it a number of times.... runs well but engine is a little tired. Still a really cool car. Odometer had 41766 when it was in the showroom last. The woodgraining on the dash was excellent and a very short grain. I have a photo of that that I could possible post later on...

Here's a few photos.. hopefully they post OK. One shows how fine the woodgraining is on the dash, a couple of trunk compartment, another closeup of a door to cowl at the molding. I took this as one of the cars I'm working on right now is a coupe where the door fits tight here.. but wider at the top and bottom. A good example that they weren't a perfect fit then as we expect them to be now. Also a shot of the dash as it was at the STL Dealer and engine compartment. Obviously the coil, southwind gas heater, etc had been changed and added respectfully. As you and I both know... a very nice example of typical production Model A 84 years later.
Did he get the valve stems and tools? I heard the tools may have been kept by I.C.

What is the extra line in the vacuum used for? Is that another fitting in the carb?
