Re: American Pickers
Tony was a natural on TV. It was neat to hear that they really liked his place. The fact that the leather license plate that was for an early Olds car and eventually ended up in the Oldsmobile Museum is a great ending.
Congrats Tony! Dean |

Re: American Pickers
If I understood correctly the 'tag' wasn't just on an olds, it was used on all olds in 1908 that were test driven on the street. A Manufacturers tag, like the dealer tags. Nice find, if not for the scratch from the show, I doubt cheap Mike would have let it go for the 1.2k....

I'm sure that you are right ! I have heard that each one of those guys received $25,000.00 per episode, in the first season. Who knows how much they get now, being that the show is such a hit. MIKE |

Re: American Pickers
Not a very flattering picture, I would love to know the story behind the tat, it's a tad over the top, must be a little distracting when you are trying to speak with her, but maybe she prefers you talk to her chest. Some one should photo shop and remove the tat to see her in 'the flesh' and not the ink.....

Re: American Pickers
I can't watch that show, it irritates me, where do they come up with their stab in the dark values? A couple of years ago I had my 67 mustang sitting out in the driveway during March. Two guys pulling a trailer knocked on my door. They were from Texas and on their way to pick up a chevelle about 25 miles from me. They asked me if the mustang was for sale. Then they asked if I had anything old or antique (didn't have to me automotive related) so I shot them some prices on things. They were legitimate pickers but they wanted everything dirt cheap. I'm guessing there are all kinds of people out "picking" now that the TV show has glorified what many of us have done quietly for generations.

Re: American Pickers
They really aren't " car guys" seem to be pretty clueless about them and anything mechanical, they don't fix things or tinker, just flip stuff. I fine that tought to believe...but...
