Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
It's all a matter of opinion and taste. My opinion: there no ugly cars in these years. Some are better looking than others. My favorites are the 1936 and 47-48 models.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
As stated, its all a matter of taste (as my dad says, most only have in their mouths) and Opinion (which everyone has and you know the Ole Weeezzz about opinions)
SO with that said...here is my tastes and opinion in order!! 1933- THE most beautiful EVER 1934- Like the swooping lines of the 33 but the straight lines of the 34 are a close second. 1935 1932 this low only because a lot of the body styles look like Model A carry overs 1939 Mercury-THE finest fat Ford (Product) 1938 Deluxe/39 Standard 1937/38 Standard 1939 Deluxe/1940 Standard 1936 1940 1941-1948 |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
I've never seen a flat head powered Ford I didn't like. Lately I had the opportunity to drive a '51 Crestliner and the shoebox Fords are as nice at the others.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Seth your right
Any of the Flathead era vehicles would work for me and each year has a few that I really like or would have in my Bucket list collection. I love the 50 and used to think the 53 was the best looking but the more I look at the 51 the more my mind changes, would love to have a shoebox era to 53 to drive for an everyday driver!!! |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Ohhhh! '33 open car, fer sher fer sher. Now, if I could afford one. . . but, a '39 coupe 'deloox'(properly pronounced, according to sales videos) is almost too tempting re headlites & retaining prior years' dash gauges/floor shift. The '39 dlx & '40 standard are considerably more aFordable than '33/4 and are such good lookers in their own classy right.
( And they're steerable! NO double-arm stg wheel pull'g w/ these when parallel parking! Whew. Practically unforgivable re '33/4, Henry, Edsel, Bob Gregorie.) |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Most of you guys were not even born when I found my avatar 35. I like it for it's classic Ford look of the flatheads before it and its start of the modern look fowling it. It's brother 36 was changed only to include a larger radiator, from its grill back is nearly identical, but takes away from the classic look a bit.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Yep 35 roadster for me too. Had mine for 31 years. Can't wait to have it back on the road. Will have my next project home soon. A 35 convertible sedan. Love seeing all the models at meets and nationals but I admit I stay a little longer at the 35 in the lineup

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
I agree with all those who like the 33 best. I luckily have a 33 std phaeton.
Don't call any of them ugly but I am partial to the 32-40 cars style wise, not fond of the 41-8s, like the 49-53s. |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
I have always liked the roofline on the 39 and 40 Australian Slopers.
Not my car or pic, but I thought I'd share it because the lines are so nice. My heart is in my 41 convert Last edited by fortyonerag; 01-12-2017 at 09:29 PM. |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
To me, the 1933 Fords edge out the 1934's. I also have a 1937 humpback Sedan. It has grown on me alot! I get just as many "Thumbs up" with the '37 as with the '33. Glad as heck for the privilege to have both!

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
My 1940convertable was my first and was special ,my 39 deluxe coupe to me looks just right at every angle,I think coops just look better anyway,I know it doesn't count but my 37 Lincoln zephyr coupe blows them all away.......the ugliest to me is the 35 trunk sedan, but yup the 39 ford coupe I reckon is my number one.
