Default Extending the tailpipe

Have any of you extended the tailpipe to slightly beyond the bumper? Trying to avoid any stationwagon effects. Does it change the tune of the exhaust or the performance of the engine?

Did you slip a pipe over the main pipe and clamp it or drill a hole and sheet metal screw them together. If the clamp method, does it show ?

I tried to do it with an extension piece from local auto parts store, but it would hit on something on bumps, so I gave up. Maybe something's not aligned right, but for once I decided to leave well enough alone.

Guess I'm dumb. What are "stationwagon effects"?

that happened when you had your tailpipe out the back and you would put the back window creating airflow back into car threw back window With the change in air pressure and or flow, convertables can have the same effect if you dont stay with the engineered style exhuast IE removeing turndowns ect.

The Aries Muffler folks make the parts (available in a kit) to accomplish the Service Bulletin to extend the tailpipe on Station Wagons and Panel deliveries. I recently installed one on my '31 Panel Delivery. Typical good Aries quality and fit.
