Default Black walls or white walls ?

I am so tired of the 6 white walls on my 31 coupe because they are yellowing. I have tried everything to make them look nice and white but maybe they are just yellow with age? Anyone else have this old-tire yellowing problem?
Also it is impossible to clean the White Walls in the fender pockets.
Maybe I'm a perfectionist but I can't be satisfied with yellowed white walls...to the point of replacing them with black walls.
Please note that my 31 Coupe is a 'driver', that is, it has 39 Ford spoke wheels with hydraulic brakes.
A penny for your thoughts?

Some sidewall cleaners actually cause the white to yellow from sunlight exposure. When this happens, I resort to using SOS pads to restore them. They remove the yellowed surface.

Turn the tires inside out and face the white inside and paint with a black paint. Now you have your blackwalls.

I have found that sos pads or a similar scubbing pad works great on white walls and stay away from the tire shine stuff , it tends to yellow white walls.

Back in my youth we used to use Comet or Ajax cleanser and a scrub brush. Worked well at the time.

Black walls or white walls ?

Depends on what kind of oil you use.

When I was 15 I worked in a Nash dealership. My job was cleaning used cars. We used SOS type pads on the white walls. I still use them today.

I use Bleche Spray and a stiff brush or a 3M scrubbing pad. Let the BW soak a minute before you use the brush. They will clean right up. BW is available at all auto parts stores in the tire products area. It comes in a white bottle with a red sprayer.

Lacquer thinner works pretty good on white walls . I also like Wesleys tire cleaner on both white and black wall tires.

I don't think Wesley's makes Bleche-White any longer. The only stuff I can find now still has Bleche White on the bottle and the bottle still looks the same but has another company name on it, not Wesley's. I don't think it works as well either.

If you look at original photos - all through the years, blackwalls predominate. Rich guys or those that like "glitzy" tires go with the whitewalls. I like the solid original look of the blackwalls but certainly respect the personal choice of the other type.

That is why we have chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

Just my humble opinion - worthless to so many..............

Be well -

I have also sprayed Greased Lightening on them and scrubbed it with a brush.

I was in your boat, got my car with '35 wires and older whitewalls. Click on the link below to watch the transition:
