Default 8ba fender support in a 40

Does anyone have any pictures of what they did to replace the fender support yoke in their 40 when they put an 8ba in a 1940 Coupe? Can you modify the stock piece and use it ? I know anything is possible I am looking for ideas.

I modified the fender support to miss the pulley. Take a look here if you like as I have a pic on my webshots. Good luck

Practicality likely depends on whether engine is ready to run or not, but consider the advantages of cam and ignition swap to give the engine an early front end. Engine can also be fully converted to look like an early to most people.

Made "L" SHAPED brackets out of 1/8x 3/4 x 3/4 in. angle iron. Used holes that were already in the frame to mount them. That was 33 years ago and it's still holding.

I cut the centre out of the cross piece of the factory brace and replaced it with a piece of solid bar bent to clear the pulley. I carefully shaped it so it would also clear a 59A style pulley if I reverted to the early type. The bar is about 10mm diameter or so, actually I think I made it from a scissor jack handle..

I didn’t know it was a problem in 40’s

This brings to mind the thing I had with putting 8ba in my 35.
Mocking things up I noticed the axle and tie rod being close to the pan. Tried other 8ba pans and they all were a no go. So I modified a 59 pan to fit 8ba.
After doing that I was informed by a bunch of people that 8ba in 35 w truck pumps needs to be spaced up.

Would spacing it up at the pumps in a 40 help it clear the yoke?
Do 8ba truck pumps make a V8 sit lower than 59 pumps?
