Default Windshield wiper conversion 12volt recommendation

I want to convert the vacuum wipers on a '51 Ford Crestliner to 12volt electric. Do you guys have any recommendations on a source and specific kits?

Try Newport Engineering. Don't know if they make a kit for your car or not but have always heard good things about their units.

X3 on Newport Engineering. Have their product in my '51 Merc.
If you want the look of the original wiper switch you will have use some ingenuity to adapt the original to the replacement switch.

I have Newport units on three cars and they all work good and went in with a minimum of trouble.

And all this time I thought 6 volt vacuum and 12 volt vacuum used the same connection to the intake manifold.

You are correct. No difference in 6 or 12 volt vacum.

That must be why I often find older Bosch wiper motors installed in flathead era and Model A cars. Vacuum wipers seem to work the least at the speed you need them the most. Rod

That's why you have to use a vacuum reducer when you convert to 12 volt vacuum
