Adding location is good...then local barners can be of assistance.

To add...you'll need to determine if your engine has domed or flat-top pistons, in order to obtain the correct heads.

Sadly Kearney is no more. They were damn good heads.
If my memory serves me correctly Lawrie on here had mentioned a while back a source he knew of someone/company that was casting them.
Hopefully he'll chime in.

As mentioned above, Call Mike at Third Gen Auto. Was just talking to him last week about 35/36 Alum heads and I believe he said the above fact on "repro" heads, plus I know he has some used one too!!!!!

Good suggestion Brian....very good indeed!!!

Hopefully someone is able to save the templates for the heads if Kearney went out of buisness...
If you don´t have to do the pattern work...getting it back to production is more likely.

I know that aluminum heads are important for some people but cast heads are much better and where actually replacements for faulty aluminum heads.

Anyone with a source is a lead for learning and parts.

The owner of Kearney Foundry told me their patterns for the Aluminum heads were sold to H&H in the LA area. I don't know if they are making them or not. Jim in San Jose

"H&H"? Sounds like things are about to get expensive.

Good aluminum 35-36 heads are scarce, most will need repair around the water passages at the least. If you want to get it running again quickly, go for cast iron heads. Trucks came with iron heads and lots of replacement iron heads were sold

Sadly not helpful, but I have to ask why you want aluminum heads? The only single advantage I can see is V-8 Club Judging.

Many '36 blocks running around, maybe even a majority, are pumping water through iron heads. Lower maintenance from what I hear as both my running '37 engines have iron head mounted water intlets.

PS. There's a finishing product by Eastwood called Aluma Blast that helps mask iron heads being, um, iron.

I heard the same thing about H&H buying the manufacturing equipment from Kearney.
I also knew about the source in Australia. I was once planning to buy a set from one of the two known sources, until I visited Vern Tardel and picked up a set of Eddie Meyer repro 21 stud heads, at what I thought was a reasonable price.

I feel you, but those aluminum add-on's come at a very dear price from where I'm sitting. I don't covet speed parts to the level of thinking it's rational to drop 2K on heads that will need reworking to become truly serviceable.

JM, I'm dying to find a spare moment when we can finish up that hopped up honey in your shed but I have to say I'll be glad that my silver dimes and quarters didn't go into speedy bobs and bits.

Jeff, after you see how cool the engine in the hoodless '35 coupe looks, with those Eddie Meyer finned aluminium heads, and Eddie Meyer high rise 2x2 intake, with a pair of Uncle Max's "work of art" Stromberg 81's sitting on top, you'll be diverting your lunch money for as long as it takes to get the same/or very similar setup in your '35 fordor green emerald!!
