Default Flathead Friday with Mart. I just can't leave those broken studs alone..

One of my traits is stubborn determination. I became fixated with getting to grips with broken stud removal. This video shows my continued fight with the little blighters. And guess what... There's another part to come yet. Will there be a guaranteed happy ending? Hopefully you'll be as anxious as I am to find out.

Your determination is impressive. Good to see you won some battles.

Hi Everyone. Mart thanks for letting us into your shed.

What conclusions did you reach about the tools you used in the earlier stud removal videos? I guess I'm requesting you add a little to your next vid on their plusses and minuses?

At one frustrating moment you said you were basically wasting supplies and not making progress. I'm not a welder, so I hope you forgive me being nosy. How much money in gas and wire do you think you've invested in our education using your scrap block?

Thanks one more time!

I have a friend hat comes over and blowa them out with a torch. Except for the three blind holes. Try it on a junk block

I don't want to be a bugger. When pulling studs, when you feel resistance (you'll know) stop and heat it and add some PM blaster or whatever. Repeat as needed. They will come out. Take your time.

Now there are the hard cases also.

I tried that, Ron, it was a disaster. I don't have enough experience with the torch to be able to do it successfully.

Luckily for me it was (as you said) a junk block.

The secret to blowing them out with a torch is drill a hole al the way through so the torch won't blow back and take threads with it! DON'T do blind holes with a torch! Don't ask how I learned that!
