Default Are these rear fender 1938 Standard

I need some help with these fenders. I bought a truck bed of parts from a seller and he told me these were 38 standard. Also what is a fair price for them. They will need some work. I am trying to get them back into circulation. Are they coupe or sedan? Thanks

Not positive on the year, but they look like sedan fenders to me.

37 and 38 had different rear fenders for different body styles. Identify them by the number of body mounting bolt holes. I think it was shown in a drake catalog at one time.
Things got easier in 1939

First of all, you can completely rule-out 1937 as all '37s had the "pod on a stalk" taillights. That fact alone narrows the pictured fenders down to '38 or '39 SEDAN because of taillight hole. Lots of difference between coupe and sedan rear fenders in '38. Definitely NOT '38 COUPE as can be seen by it's distinctive shape of lower "boat tail" area.

Well the obvious difference in 37 and 38 a blind man could tell , what i was saying is there were a number of different rear fenders in those 2 years depending on body style were 39 and up has one size for all body style with the exception of the standard tail light.

When i was hunting 37 flatback fenders, most people that advertised them turned out to be humpbacks.

The question above can be answered by the number of bolt holes

The right has a tail light so it ws either a deluxe or had the hole cut in later

You should remember that 1938 Deluxe and Standard SEDAN bodies were different profiles, the STANDARD retaining the basic shape of the '37 "hump-backish" style, whereas the Deluxe SEDANS took-on the shape of the newer '39-'40 "sloping" shape. Keeping these Standard/Deluxe difference in mind for '38 SEDANS, and yet by comparing the '38 Standard and Deluxe SEDAN pics below, I'm going to stick my big neck out there and state that it APPEARS (to me) that '38 Std. and DeLuxe SEDAN rears are different. To me, the Std. appears to have a flattened slope line above the fuel filler, as compared to the "rounder", more-flowing slope on the DeLuxe fender above the fuel filler. I say that '38 Deluxe SEDANS with the sloped shape and ALL '39 sloped-shape SEDANS use the same rear fender. So, if I have half a clue, the pictured fenders should fit '38 DeLuxe and ALL '39 sedans. Anyone disagree with that dazzlin' BS? DD

1938 Standard

1938 DeLuxe

The Bob Drake drawings for the 1937 rear fender differences are reproduced in the 1937 Early Ford V8 book on page 2-13 as Skidmark indicated. The dimension of the last two holes at the back end of the fender determines the body they are compatible with. Humpbacks had one hole and flatback sedans and coupes both had two holes but different dimensions between the two groups.

Not 38-39 panel truck fenders.
