Default Stolen car recovered

This is a story local to us here in Mississippi. Not a flathead, but interesting none-the-less.

Good story ,Its a lesson to foreign car purchases ,It could be picked up at the boarder at this end if the pink slip doesn't match the numbers .It took us three months to get a car authenticated by the us authority's ,

Happy ending story but somebody has been watching too many fake tv auto shows if they think some plain jane 66 Mustang might be worth 32 thousand dollars. Thats just BS.

It's not about the money or value, it's about the emotional connection with a material thing that becomes a personal part of that owner. Glad she got it back, I would suggest a powerball ticket to see if that luck keep going.

I wonder how a car gets sold and resold without showing up as stolen. You'd think at least when it gets sold out of state it would pop up. The few times I've transferred cars between states they've run the VIN.

It should be obvious to anyone doing their due diligence if VINs don't match up between the car and the paperwork.

I loved the story about Betsy Montgomery getting her '66 Mustang back after 20 years. I am happy for her. A '66 Mustang was a special car for my wife and I and we took many long trips in it with fond memories. We bought it new. It was an Ivy Green Sprint 200 model with all of the dress up items on it that came with the Sprint. Love the First Generation Mustangs. Of course I feel good hearing about anyone getting their stolen car back.

Good story with a happy ending (probably not for the Aussie buyer).

I'm sure NADA classic price guide does show a Mustang high value of 32K, the writer added the bit about value to add intrest to the story I imagine. I don't think he met to imply this Mustang was worth that much.
