Distributor Wire part
Does anyone here know of a source for the electrical connection for lower distributor plate wires?
I have bushels of wire in my shop and it seems that making up a new connecting wires between the lower and upper plate would be a cost effective project. My "heat of the summer" project this year is building restored distributors out of the pile of parts that have accumulated over the past several years. I'm not finding connectors that are similar from a local source and haven't been successful on internet searches yet. Thanks in advance for your input and ideas. |

Re: Distributor Wire part
Are you referring to the flag connectors? I've got them from Snyders before. Be sure to use the super flexible, high temp wire like this:

Re: Distributor Wire part
That wire is available from the 'A' vendors such as Bratton's, Snyder's etc.
That wire is very fine strand which holds up longer. Last edited by Patrick L.; 06-22-2022 at 06:43 PM. |

Re: Distributor Wire part
I would not recommend using regular wire. I use this when I rebuild distributors.
Abrasion-Resistant Wire, with Silicone Insulation, 14 Wire Gauge https://www.mcmaster.com/7479K23

Re: Distributor Wire part
The wire is also available at hobby shops, it's used in radio controlled cars and airplanes.

In the one review of the product, the reviewer indicates the hole in the terminal is for a 6/32 stud. I don't know if that's the stud size is on the Model A points. 100 pcs. should be a lifetime supply. |
