Default Hood Paint Bubbles

My hood paint is bubbling up. I noticed the paint is also flaking off underneath the hood I suppose due to the heat off the motor.

Any ideas on what to apply underside of the hood to hold down the heat from making the exterior on the hood paint bubble up?

Sorry to say I think your hood will need to be stripped, prepped correctly and repainted. Something went wrong during the paint job, hopefully only the hood. I've never seen a Model A hood get hot enough to affect the paint. Your Ford has the original motor?

The engine would blow up long before the hood would even get hot enough to bubble paint. Never even seen one too warm to touch. The louvers in the side help a lot.
Most likely bad body work where somebody did something they weren't supposed to do. Likely applying material over moisture or rust. Seen it a million times.

the problem could be paint quality, primer quality, prep problem (adhesion).
you don't need to coat the inside of the hood to suppress the heat, the paint should be ok those temperatures if properly refinished.
if its bubbling now its time to refinish the hood, of live with it.

edit
it could also be a body filler issue, if there is some in that area.
pictures???

Hello,”bubbles “ I have seen in paint seem to usually come from water contamination from the air compressor,if in primer coat reacts with steel to cause rust or if trapped in finish coat will also be blisters underneath. The only way to fix this is strip to bare metal and refinish.A good set of dryers in-line with air lines and a dead leg for water trap also helps , epoxy base coat is usually a good start when refinishing.
