Default The Men Who Built America

The final episode of The HISTORY Channel's series The Men Who Built America, featuring a young engineer called Henry Ford airs this Sunday.
I've been watching this series and have really enjoyed it. And Im actually alittle excited with anticipation for the last episode.

I agree. So far the series has been fantastic... I even learned a few things I didn't know like how Tesla started as Edison's assistant.

Given how good the series has been so far I'm really looking forward to seeing the portrayal of Mr. Ford.

Your like me, I was all proud of my self for being up on my history, like I already knew what was going to happen next. But that Tesla was Edison's assistant totally surprised me. After all, I played the role of Edison in the 6th grade Play 40 yrs ago!

Nice series. The information on the people was somewhat light due to the time constraints.

There are some wonderful books on Edison for those who want "the rest of the story".
The book by Paul Israel is the best.

I wonder if Ford's "BETTER IDEA" light bulb advertising slogans were because of Edison's involvement with Ford?
I was amazed when I first found out that Edison worked for Ford, he was one of my grammar school HEROS! Bill W.

Bill,

That's backwards...Ford worked for Edison. Later on, Ford went on his own to build cars. When Ford talked to Edison about building cars "his way", Edison told him that Ford had "got it right!".
The early validation from Edison that Ford had the right idea helped Ford to overcome a preception that building low cost cars and selling many was a bad idea. The "correct" idea was to sell expensive cars and sell a small number.

Swamp People was alot of fun for awhile for us folks here in LA but as of late the shine has begun to tarnish it seems. (who many times can you choot em!) Cajun Pawn stars is just an embarassment and Sons of Guns was cool in season 1 but now it seams to scripted and having to bring in celebs to spark intrest.

Hopefully with the adverts shown during The Men who made America, the History channel has decided to star broadcasting History again... Whats next, Music on MTV?

-and to think he did that without the benefit of significant education nor market research etc., while telling the owners of the Selden Patent to go to h--- with it.

FYI,

I follow History Channel on Twitter and they posted that the finale will not air tonight but has been rescheduled for next Sunday, the 11th, at 8pm.
