What are those small ariel things called that you clip onto the bumper or fender to give yourself a guide.

meant to scrape along the curb so you know your within 6" of them - model a bumper may be too high to be helpful. or are you talking about the vertical direction and are lit like on semis so they know the exact spot thier bumper is in?

The one I saw was clipped onto the top of the fender (wing) and had a small black ball on top.
It lets you know where the top of the wing is, its a blind spot for me and I'm giving parked cars a bit too much clearance (UK)

Just Google "Bumper Guides" and it will give you bunches of choices.

There are a bunch on ebay, the type that stick up so you can see them. I have thought about adding them to my 48 F2. When in a tight space like my driveway that has housed on both sides and is wider in the front then the back, you can't see the fenders and like Model A's, the cab is narrower then the running boards and fenders.

The standard model A bumper does a good job when the kerbs are high.

Watch the police channel program called "Most Shocking". No fender sticks could help those crazy drivers.
