I saw a car at Reningers a few years ago (perhaps the owner is on here) that was converted to all electric. I thought that one was pretty interesting as well.

very interesting and attractive conversion, but I had to cringe a little when I saw holes drilled in the rear fenders to attach mudflaps.....

With all the modifications to this vehicle the holes in the fenders are insignificant.

I know what you mean. I didn't even want to drill holes for my right side tail light!!

Does anyone make brackets for the mudflaps?

Thanks for posting, very interesting to see!
My mother had one of those diesel Jeep's when I was a kid, ran good and very efficient. It ran circles around my father's diesel ranger. Very interesting choice of power unit, and appears to be a clean install. I really appreciate seeing it done neatly!

Ruth:

the tail light is far more justifiable in my mind than mudflaps, but on the two occasions when I did install a RH tail light it was not an easy decision to take.....

Not sure what the big deal is over mud flaps, holes can be closed up. Snyder's even sells them;
https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/S...rd=mud%20flaps
I would have thought the sticking points would have been the fuel tank and exhaust stack in the bed! I give it a thumbs up other wise and is something if I had enough money would consider doing, oh wait I have but lack funds.

Not to worry Mr. Brown, they are aftermarket fiberglass.

They would not work on plastic fenders, but some really powerful magnets are available that can be used to fasten mudflaps to steel fenders.

Thanks for taking the time to post those! That looks like it's going to be a very sanitary installation. I like it.

I was only joking about no drill mudflaps. I personally think the AÂ’s are the perfect platform for proud owners to Express some creativity and Make it their own. Makes me smile that they made it a driver and not a trailer queen.

At what point does the frame need to be boxed when swapping out the original “A” motor with these higher performance motors?

Thanks. One of the reasons i chose this engine was that it is exactly the same length as the stock banger and is simple like the banger so it looks right at home in there. I am also using the mercedes 4spd which posed some challenges with the shifter since i want everything to look stock (except the stance and wheels) so I had to get the shifter in the middle of the trans with a side shift tranny. I was able to get close. It's 1/2" further back and 1/2" to the left of the stock sifter position but that as close as i could get it for now. Once it's all done i will look it over and make "Z" the shifter handle below the boot to bring it to it's proper location. The E brake wasn't too bad though. The mercedes runs a hydraulic clutch so that is nice/simple one I got the line adapted for metric on the slave and imperial on the master.

That's a good question. I don't know. I boxed the frame "just because". The engine is about the same weight as the banger and only 70HP so It wasn't necessary but I boxed it anyway.
