Default Head gaskets

I am installing new Best 511 copper sandwich head gaskets in conjunction with Edelbrock block letter heads. Is there an up or down side to the gaskets? The copper rolls over around the cylinder and crimps on one side. Best puts their name on one side, There is a v notch on one end, is it relevant to placement?

The vee notch faces front. Best brand gaskets are the best, however, with aluminum heads such as yours, you'd be better off using their graphtite style, which are made for that very application. Using copper promotes electrolysis of the aluminum

If you insist on using them, coat them liberally with aluminum paint.
