I don't remember the old bias ply tires of the 60s doing that but maybe I've just been spoiled by today's smoother riding vehicles . My old 81 GMC and 97 Blazer seem to absorb and eliminate all the road roughness unlike the Merc. And I'm only running 28 or less psi in the Mercs P235-70x15 tires too.

One of my daughters has a large farm in Central Montana. They have to travel over eighteen miles on a gravel road to get to their house. They mostly travel on gravel rural roads. My sun in-law found that if he ran his radial tires five pounds low on the gravel roads he had less trouble with rock punctures. Surprisingly, the lower tire pressure does not result in side wall punctures, could be the sidewalls seem to deflect the rocks.

Ordered, paid, and the wait begins

I went with Calli tire in Sacramento, set of 5 delivered $870 - size 215-75-R15.

Base tire is Hankook. The only down side, the 3" white wall begins 1/2" from the bead. Not a problem for me. But they do claim to use a non-yellowing rubber which Coker hasn't used (may still not, I donno).

I would prefer Diamond Back tires but they are on east coast and I'm on the west. I feel the DiamondBack are superior quality. Their tires plus shipping is $150 each higher per tire than Calli - double. Beyond my wallet today. Having seen Coker's occasional hit/miss problems, they were't in the running, especially at $60 higher each than Calli tire. https://callitw.com/
