Default Ford's Vision - Milford Michigan and a family video from 'back in the day'

A great story from where I grew up in southeastern lower Michigan, and Ford's involvement in the area:

Okay, this video (link below) comes from my family archives. It was 1957 and filmed by my aunt, of the 125th anniversary "Pioneer Days" parade in my childhood hometown of Milford Michigan. I was one of the kids on one of the floats, I remember riding in it but not too many other details. The General Motors Proving Grounds is about 5 miles from Milford, check out the Buick Wildcat II Concept car and the "new" 1957 TBird.

Many years later and 4 days out of the Air Force I was working at the Ford dealership in Milford, learning the parts business. That multi-story building in the far background was the Ford Carburetor Plant where my aunt and the parents of several friends worked at the time. Link:

Cool video Ron. That tavern in the background, I spent many a night there if it's the one I'm thinking about. Can't recall the name right now. CSR.

Oh yeah - Tim's! Been there a few times myself. Not lately though. FYI, Don Spiker - he owned the Ford dealership in town from about '67 till the 90s, passed away a couple weeks ago.
