Default Aiming 35 headlights

I have halogen conversions in my 35 tudor streetrod and now that I reinstalled bulbs correctly they shine pretty good. I have them aimed as high as I can but they still hit the road too close to the car due to the car's stance. Has anyone had any experience modifying the stands to raise the point of aim?

You should be able to modify those buckets some in the pivot area so they can be aimed higher.

The traditional way to aim original '35 lights is to pivot the entire light assembly. However, I have heard from several sources that guys who have made halogen conversions on their early Fords have found they don't readily lend themselves to practical focusing. If this is true it probably is the result of the optics associated with using original lenses.

If you have lowered the front end of the vehicle you will probably have to increase the available stroke of adjustment, by opening the adjustment hole on the bottom of the lights. with the retaining clip removed the mounting bolt can be removed to gain access to the adjustment slot.

Thanks, I was gonna try that but was worried about making the slot too big and having it fall out.
