Default Horn-Light steering rod

How do I line up the two angle bracket to fit into the rotating contact switch plate, before installing the “ C “ clip on to the rod ? I probably have to temporally fit it together and see what light conductor is alive. One wire is low beam, one is high beam, and one wire is parking light wire. What would be the position of the lever handle on the steering wheel ?

The lever should point straight down in the off position. One notch to the right (counter-clockwise) is parking lights, one to the left is low beam, second is high beams although some guys reverse the high & low, they feel it is easier when trying to hurry the change. Goofy ideas to me but to each his own.

Pre-set the rotating contact plate in the 12/6 O'clock position, your lever should be in 6 o'clock.
If it does not line up right you may have to rotate the spider gear on the rod.

Be careful, spider gears tabs break easy, so always buy two.

"How do I line up the two angle bracket to fit into the rotating contact switch plate, before installing the “ C “ clip on to the rod ? "

1. Rotate the Headlight Switch Lever to 9 o'clock position.
2. Use several wraps of masking tape or other method to hold it in place.
3. Install Spring and Switch Driver on the rod with the tabs Horizontal.
4. Push the Driver up the rod and install the clip.
5. Remove the tape and turn the lever to 6 o'clock as stated to align for installing the switch.
