do you paint the Goodyear tire logo on whitewalls?
1930 Cabriolet with Goodyear whitewalls, were these flag logos painted or not?
I know you lose 2 points in judging because these were aftermarket, but what about the flag logo? Not seeing confirming details of this even in a couple searches. I don't want to lose even more points as I have whitewalls and I sure am not taking them off. Thanks

RG&JS Page 22-3 Revised 2016 attached
"The crest shaped logo on the Firestone tire included a red field surrounding the letter "F". On the 1928-29 Goodyear tire, the double circular logo had a red outer ring and a white inner circle. Later Goodyear tires had a waving flag logo with yellow upper and lower fields and blue side fields over a stippled background. The mast was silver."

To be era correct you should dual whites.....an era photo shows that Goodyear white walls did have the Goodyear flag, on both sides of the tire.

I know they did not come that way from the factory for judging, but they sure did put them on at the dealer to sell some new cars for more $$.

Re: do you paint the Goodyear tire logo on whitewalls?
As part of a hobby/boredom cure I seek out old pictures of Model A's, preferably ones pre 1940. I've amassed quite a collection that numbers over 3,000 unique non-factory images.
I can count on two hands the number of era images I've found that have a car wearing white-walls. -Tim

Re: do you paint the Goodyear tire logo on whitewalls?
I painted the red crests on my new Coker Firestones. I think it really adds a nice touch and attention to detail. I don't think the enamel paint I used is going to last very long, though. This may be an annual occurrence.
