Default Roll Pin mod to modern upper plate

I saw an article a while back about installing a roll pin in the modern upper plate to assist with setting the point gap. Has anyone tried this mod? Was it worth doing. Do you remember where this article appeared? Model A News, Restorer??? Thanks for your time

Hmmm, interesting. Haven't heard of it. I haven't found them hard to set.

If I remember right it gives you an anchor spot when the screwdriver is in the point slot for setting the gap. Also lets you hold the correct gap when the screws are tightened to the plate.

Thanks Randy, I will dig through my past issues, when I find it I will post where it was.
I too thought it was a good article and made a mental note, problem is my mental filing system is a folder short lately.

I just cut a slot in my upper plate like the 60's distributors have. It works well for me.
