Default Upper radiator hose measurement

Is it possible to get a good 'close' measurement, ID and length, of the upper radiator hoses for the '49-'53 Ford/Merc? Please. Thanks

Upper I.D. is 1 1/4. Can't help you on the length.

The upper hose is a 90 deg. formed elbow and I have never seen a specified length for them.
They are available at various vendors.
18 inches is a starting point but you have to consider that each side is a different length.

If the engine and radiator are in the car you can use your flexible
vacuum cleaner hose to get a very close measurement.

I have a 'custom' application. I need a hose that is exactly the same shape as those that are listed in the catalogs for the '49-'53 flat head cars. Only they don't give or list measurements. I need, 1 1/2" ID and 22" long.
Thanks.

Here's a 2016 Gates Old Car Catalog.

Page 978 has your hose listed. Call Gates and ask for the specs.
https://assets.gates.com/content/dam...12050_2016.pdf

Here's what the DAYCO Catalog shows for your car.
http://www.daycoproducts.com/part?ca...number%3D81041

Also, explore the same site for other types of hoses that might work if you cut them.

Finally, peruse this:

Gee thanks! So the upper rad hose for the '49-'53 cars is 1 1/4" ID and roughly 15" long, according to the site you gave me.
I'm looking at Mac's and B'Drake catalog picture, and that gentle 90 curve and the 'Ford' script stamped on the hose, + the OEM looking hose clamps is exactly what I would like to have, only in the 1 1/2" ID and 22" length. (Well nuts.)
I must be blind in one eye, and can't piss out of the other, for I looked at every part # on the page 978, and do not see '12050'. Am I doing something wrong?

This is on my 53' Merc, hope it helps. The ones I took off the car Had this number stamped in the side of them: AU 193 02 B. No manufacture name on the hose. Same dimensions.

Unfortunately this is a wasted effort as the 'OP' needs something different as evidenced in post #7 above.

Well maybe somebody can use it. I know when I am searching past posts, if I see a heading with the same question, I will open it to see if some one posted the answer. If some one is looking for "Upper radiator hose measurement", they will be able to get the answer. I have been known to answer my own questions, in the past, in follow-up posts.

HRP over on the HAMB posted about using the silver flexible hose from an air cooled VW to form a mock up and then taking it to the parts store to match up a hose.

Thanks all. The'49-'53 rad hoses pictured in the Macs/B'Drake catalogs 'look' exactly what I needed. However no measurements were listed.
After asking you guys (walking encyclopedias) it was determined that hoses listed were too small. 1 1/4" ID 15" long.
I needed a hose with the same gentle bend as pictured in the catalogs, only 1 1/2" ID and 22" long.
Thanks again.

Here are the drawings for the upper radiator hose for 49-51 Mercurys. Notice that the 8CM-8260 hose is a different length than the OCM-8260-A

Speaking of radiator hoses in general. How would one go about getting the 'Ford' or 'FoMoCo' script, printed on the hoses?
Is there a stencil kit, or paint, or,,,,, what?
Thanks
