Default Parking brake interchangeable?

Is it possible to just bolt in a later style parking brake in a 29 or do i need the entire later transmission?

All 3 speed Model A transmission cases will accept all towers. However the parts down stream from the handle can be different.

You will need a different tower, as mentioned.

These two pictures show the side mount brake lever and the front mount. Same transmission, different towers...both on a '29.
