Cutter tool for Drum Doktor
I have a Drum Doktor and the cutters that came with it are for cast iron drums. What cutter do I need for steel drums and where can I get them? I know one is not supposed to cut the steel drums but I only want to clean them up a little.
Thanks. Supergnat |

Supergnat, Carbide does not work well on steel drums Purchase a couple of high speed steel blank toolbits and grind them to shape of a standard lathe bit. Break the edge of the point on the tool with a radius. Will usually turn the material out in a continuous ribbon, but depends on your depth of cut. Also you can grind steel drums.

No, I don't know where to get them. I am nervous about trying to make my own. If I do the cut slowly can I use the carbide bits I have?
